We're an independent editorial team publishing outfit ideas and style guides.

Every piece at stil starts with a real outfit, built from real pieces. Before we bring a look to the page, we always ask the same questions: why do these colors work together, what kind of day does this outfit belong to, and what happens if one piece changes? If the answer isn't clear, the outfit doesn't get published.

We are a two-person editorial team based in Istanbul. We write everything ourselves; there is nobody else on the masthead. That is why a few pieces appear each week rather than several a day, and why they all carry the same byline.

We write about what we can actually look at. We study fabric and light through press and archive photography used with permission — every page credits the photographer or the brand. Everything we describe is genuinely visible in the frame: how a weave takes the light, how a knit holds its shape, how one color sits next to another. If it cannot be seen in the picture, we do not write about it.

We are independent: nobody pays for coverage, and no brand reads a piece before it is published. If we ever earn a commission on a link, it will be marked on the page it appears on.

Our voice is calm — big promises, breathless adjectives, and urgency aren't for us. We don't praise something we don't like; the reasoning behind every piece we recommend is exactly what we saw when we actually looked at it.
